Get rid of plastic water bottles

Thursday, April 24, 2008

With the latest information about BPA, a chemical often found in plastic water bottles causing a lot of health problems, people are more interested in getting rid of plastic bottles and using alternatives.

I found an article today about what type of plastics are mostly used for what items and how dangerous the chemicals in those products are. I must say I always recycle my bottles (contrary to the articles statistics) but now I'm not so sure I want to use those bottles as much.

A small update

Wednesday, April 23, 2008

The ghost hunting trip last Saturday was a nice trip. It didn't help that we had to deal with the type of girls that are friendly as long as it gets them something and as soon as they are finished with you, they talk about you evilly behind your back. That's not the point however, the point was to have a good time and to do some ghost hunting. The good thing was we did seem to experience some things. I was there not even five minutes and I had my hair tugged. We saw the woman in the window, a shadow going up stairs. That was pretty much it. My girlfriend and I are hoping we can go back before this summer is over.

Today, of course was Earth Day. I didn't do anything different. I did my usual recycling, walked to class, turned off the lights and just enjoyed my day. I hope everyone else did what they normally do and I hope it was a step in the right direction!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

How to Use Gemstones for Shielding

Friday, April 11, 2008

I posted below about working on a new shielding technique. This definitely is not something I came up with on my own, nor is it something I found online. This is actually from a book titled, "Crystals Simple Routines for Home, Work and Travel" by Christina Rodenbeck.

The book is a very quick read, but so much information is packed within it, it's hard to keep up with it all. Pair that to all the lovely pictures and this book is a great read for those really wanting to learn more about crystals.

This shielding technique is rather easy. The first step is finding a stone that you feel connected with. Or, a stone that you know or feel has very protective properties. Once you have done that, the next step is to cleanse the stone thoroughly in your choosing (smudging, running water, etc) and leave it to charge in the sun for at least three hours. However, you can leave the stone to charge for longer as you wish, as long as you use only the sun and not the moon.

One the charging process is complete, you'll want to program the stone by holding it in your left hand, imagining you and the stone surrounded by a bright, white light. Once you have that visualization, you'll want to extend the light around your body (at least 3 feet around your body). This is your psychic shield. Tell yourself the crystal that whenever you where this stone or have it on your, you shield is up and running. Then, wear the stone in a necklace or carry it on your person as needed.

Recharge your stone and reprogram it whenever you feel your shield weakening.

Ghost Hunting

I've been very interested in ghosts and hauntings ever since the passing of my aunt when I was a child back in 1996. After she died, a lot of strange things happened to me that really scared me, but yet intrigued me. The first 24 hours after her death where very strange. I actually heard her say something at one point, things moved around the house and I actually felt a phantom touch. Things at our house began to calm down after awhile but things at her old house did not.

Since then, shows like Ghost Hunters have come along and really renewed my passion for ghosts and hauntings. Whenever my partner and I discovered that our school would be taking a trip to the Moundsville State Penitentiary, we jumped at the chance to go for one of their all night ghost hunts. The trip is tomorrow which means I will hopefully return with lots of pictures and stories to post here.

Both of us are very excited and are getting ready for the trip. I am working on a shielding technique using gemstones (just in case) and we're trying to figure out what it is we may need, aside from the usual camera and what not.

So wish us luck :)

12 Tips to Reduce Food Contamination from Packaging

Wednesday, April 9, 2008

Let's face it, we know more now than we ever have about what goes into the products that contain our foods. We now know, that some of the chemicals in the plastics our foods come in could be harmful to ourselves.

Care2 today has a great article on how to reduce food contamination from the packaging. It's straightfoward, to the point and very easy to follow.

Once again, life has gotten in the way

Being a college student, it often means not having enough time to do everything you want to do, not to mention enough time to do those things you need to do. Scheduling time is here again, and not to mention, the end of the year is quickly approaching.

I've had some difficulties registering for classes however that seems to have worked out in the end for me anyway so I guess I cannot complain about that. There have been some difficulties with a roommate, but that has been an ongoing issue that seems to have worked itself out, but yet it will only get worse as we are seeing a huge shift in their personality to an even deeper attention seeking attitude. Oh well, the year is almost over.

I really regret not being able to write here more often, but I hope, as projects come nearer and nearer, and the year finally winds down to a close, I will finally have time to write here.
