Shrine and Altar Pictures

The household shrine. This was just set up recently. Flowers were added today. It's not dedicated to anyone specific, it's a general, household shrine to give thanks, and to honor the goddess.

Some Lammas Ideas

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

This will be the first Sabbat I've celebrated in a long time. I've really missed getting in touch with the seasons and the Pagan holidays so I've decided to try and jump back on the bandwagon.

We have some meal ideas already planned. We're going to have some corn bread (a recipe that uses creamed corn as well as a mix) and we're going to try and Raspberry Trifle recipe that I found to use up some poundcake we have in the freezer that we recieved as a gift. The recipe is as follows:

Easy Raspberry Trifle

INGREDIENTS:

1 Pound Cake loaf (if frozen, be sure to thaw it first)
1 package (10 ounces) raspberries in syrup (if frozen, thaw these too)
Raspberry preserves
1 package (4 serving size) vanilla pudding, prepared
Sweetened whipped cream

PREPARATION:
Split the cake in half lengthwise and sandwich together with lots of nice raspberry preserves. Slice into 8 slices as you would slice bread. Arrange ½ the slices in a large pretty glass bowl.

With a spoon, glob ½ the pudding over the slices and use the back of the spoon to spread it out.

Drain raspberry syrup into a cup and scatter half the berries over the pudding. Add the rest of the cake slices, cover with the rest of the pudding and the rest of the berries. Drizzle the reserved syrup over the whole thing and top with whipped cream.

Feel free to try it with me. And by the way, this recipe comes from a great website for Pagan families Pooka Pages

My other plans for this weekend include a prosperity spell. I'm not sure on the type but I'm sure it'll be something simple such as a candle spell and some reflection and giving thanks.

The Comment Feature

Sunday, July 25, 2010

This is just a small note to say that currently, comments for this blog are turned off.

I've been getting a lot of spam comments lately and it's frustrating to come to your blog thinking that you've got a comment from a reader, only to find spam links and words in another language.

I hope that this feature will return at some point, but at this time, it has been turned off until further notice! I really do apologize!

Renewing the energy of my home

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

It's been awhile since I've posted but I've had a lot happen in my life. Namely, one huge thing that occured was my grandmother passed away from complications of Alzheimer's. It's been a tough time emotionally for the family and I've spent a lot of time trying to help out my grandfather but it's been tough.

I've had a craving for changes in everything. I've been craving changes in my work life as well as changes in my home environment. I've also missed really practicing my spirituality and I've really wanted to get back into it.

I recieved a lovely order from 13moons.com today and I really put things into motion. I worked on cleaning out the astral nasties. I took a broom and 'swept' up all the nasty energy and pushed it right out the door. I cleaned my altar, rearranged it and renewed it's energy. I'm currently enjoying the smell of my incense and it burns and fills the apartment with a lovely scent. I sprinkled holy water throughout and said a blessing over each door and window for protection. I also sprinkled throughout the apartment as another way to help cleanse and break up any stagnant energy. After everything was completed, I stood in the most center point of the apartment and saw our apartment filling up with bright, brillant Goddess energy.

This whole process hasn't taken me very long at all but I definitely feel much lighter and calmer in my environment. I'd really like to share my altar with everyone but my camera is not working. I believe my batteries are dead or dying. Let's hope I can promise one for the next update! I'd love to see your altar pictures. If you'd like to share, post links and tell me about your altar!
